I recently had my hair dyed from very blonde to dark brown. I am very happy with it and I want to dye my clip in hair extensions to match but I need some help finding the product that the salon used. I know it is a Loreal product, the hairdresser told me it was a reasonably new (I had it done in November 2010) Loreal dye designed so that it would cover blondes easily without the horrible orangey phase in between! And I know the colour I had was a mix of two called espresso and coffee.

Any ideas??

I've tried googling but can't come up with much so hopefully someone will know what it is!!

Thanks

Possibly Redken shades EQ (owned by L'Oreal) That can be used over blonde without pre-pigging. There is a shade called expresso, but not one called coffee.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure it was branded Loreal though, or would the redken books have the Loreal logo on? Also, I know it was definately coffe and espresso so does that mean it can't have been Redken?

Any more ideas anyone?

Thanks

Hey, was it supreme?
That range is formulated to cover grey, don't know if it would work the same for blonde, but they have them two colours. X

Supreme sounds like it could be the one, I can't find anywhere online that has supreme in those colours though, are you sure it comes it them?

I did manage to find something - Loreal Composite comes in coffee and espresso, do you think this sounds like a product a salon would use over blonde??

Even if I can't find the exact one they used, as long as I get any loreal product in the right 2 colours will my extensions come out the right colour??

Thanks

Im sure I saw them colours in the supreme range.

I've never heard of composite, i'll have a little look now.

No, as it sounds like a range that hasn't required pre-pigging, using another range on its own may turn them khaki.

What colour was the shade chart?

Could you not buy new extensions?

I'm pretty sure she used composite, it's a semi permanent colour that definetly comes in those two shade..

are you trained in hairdressing? I ask because even if you managed to get hold of these products do you even know how to use them :\

I didn't mean to quote that. It wasn't aimed at you it was aimed at the original poster, sorry!

Was going to say thats a little harsh! :D

Personally I wouldn't try colouring your extensions the same colour, just replace them, always easier!

Yeah sorry I hit the quote button instead of the reply button. HeadKandy clip-in extensions are absolutely brilliant for matching up to your colour. They don't have just ONE colour in their wefts they have different shades all put together. By the time you've clipped the whole set in you'd be amazed at how well it blends. They're worth the money and they're fantastic quality.

Thanks for the help everyone...to be honest I don't really know what I'm doing with them, I've used salon bleach before but not pigment. I figured as I was doing it on extensions, not my own head, it wouldn't matter too much if it went wrong and I could try it on a small piece first before ruining the whole lot!!

I was going to just buy new extensions but I can't find anywhere that is cheap enough, the last extensions I bought were £40 for an 8-piece full head set of 24" but that website doesn't exist anymore!!...does anyone know any other sites that would have them at this kind of price??

xx
