Right guys I've a client message me over the weekend asking for my help.
She has been turned away by 2 different salons. ( i cant understand why)

I will attach the 2 picture of what she is now & what she would like to get back to.

She understands this will be a process & will be done over numerous appointments.

I just want to get this right for her as she so badly wants to get back to her lighter colours.
All advice will be taken on board.
I have her 1st appointment with myself tomorrow.

Hey! How much darker colour build up has she got on her hair now?
It doesn’t look that dark so I’d probably do a full head highlights and with olaplex, then a nice toner to remove brassy tones, if the brown she has on now it quite light it should work well acting as a low light inbetween :) x

You've pretty much suggested exactly what i thought ☺ she is slightly lighter than the picture. She's had 2 colours on since being blonde, so not much build up.
I never understand why alot of salons in my area turn these clients away, fine by me thoughas i love this side of the job and seeing the end result ☺. Thank you! X

Why not use a colour reducer? No damage.

Sometimes you need not so much to look at the current colour , but the history of what she has underneath that brown colour, if it’s a full head of very light highlights , I would check out the condition of her hair when it’s wet , to check it’s elasticity etc
Colouring hair back to someone s natural shade doesn’t make it virgin hair .

I'm going to ***** the condition of her hair tomorrow & take it from there.

Have you seen her in person to Skin test her and strand test or just booked her in. Alarm bells would be going off for me that two hairdressers have refused to do it

I would ask things like is she old enough, has she used henna, these are all reasons a stylist would refuse. I get one but two to refuse you need to dig a little deeper

Skin test is all good. Strand test all good.
I know the girl, so age isn't an issue.

Do you mean she’s under age but because you know her that doesn’t matter? That might be why she’s been refused

I would also do a full head of highlights and tone, as the current colour looks like a lovely lowlight! As long as you've done a strand test etc you know you're covered :)

Thank you for all advice everyone. I went with the fullhead of highlights & it came out perfect & that was before the toner.
