I have a new client her hair has previously been botched up she normally has it bleached she has a band of regrowth which is about a 5 , she then has a band of yellow then the rest is a lighter blonde colour , she wants a root stretch effect with some darker running through so it looks more natural ... she doesn’t want it too dark though , I was thinking 8.1 on the roots ( or would this still be too warm with her hair being a 5 naturally ?) then put a through lowlights through maybe 8.7? Then 10.1 over the rest to tone it down abit ? What’s everyone’s opinion am I way off ? Sorry I have no photos , I’m doing it tomorrow! Xx

An 8.1 is going to go very warm on her natural

I just did 8.1 and 10.1 on ends to tone it looked nice but should have pulled the 8.1 down a bit more

Looks lovely, what brand did you use?

It’s very pretty but I wouldn’t call it a root stretch. Usually, you start with a colour near to the clients natural colour so that there isn’t obvious banding as it grows out.

Yea I know , the client didn’t want to be as dark as her natural but didn’t want it as light as her ends ... you can’t really tell from the pic but it is actually darker at root x
