Ok I'm writing this for my girlfriend <3 since this impacts me as well

We recently purchased a house together and plan to convert the spare bedroom into a mini salon for her home business. I have lots of questions....and low budget haha

Details.
1) Room has carpet.
2) Room has a on-suite bathroom.

First Topic: Sink. (bought a salon sink off Kijiji $150...is that good?)
We talked to our friend who is a plumber and he said because of the location of the Bathtub faucets (Bedroom wall) we can easily put a sink (salon sink) in the bedroom. So since we have Carpet any suggestions on what to do there?
1) Perhaps a plastic mat over the carpet that covers the area? How much water is splashed around on a lazy/tired day?
2) Perhaps a carpet cover of some sort? Does this get moldy?
3) The bathroom layout doesn't really allow for anything to work on the on-suite.

Second Topic: Hair + Cleanup
Ok yes I love my girlfriend and yes I understand there is hair everywhere when you cut it....How can we live happy and have it clean? :)
At her parents house she has a plastic matt that the salon chair sits on and then she just vacuums up after. Ok that works great.
1) What is a good vacuum with a large container that we should consider?
2) Are there any other suggestions you have for cleanup? I would rather have the salon vacuum separate from the house vacuum as to minimize the spread of hair everywhere.
3) How does everyone dispose of the hair, separate trash in the bedroom?

Thanks....I'm kind of a clean freak.... OK I'm a complete clean freak  and yes my girlfriend is clean but nobody is clean enough in my twisted views haha just trying to make a happy house stay happy when we move in

Thanks for any help

Hi there, I would recommend you replace the carpet. I will be amazed if you are able to remove all the hair cuttings, plus you don't want to risk spillages if she will be colouring people's hair x good luck to your girlfriend

Agree with Hairdaze, get rid of the carpet.
