Hey all :) Found your forum whilst googling. I previously trained in Holistic therapies but that's not why I am here.
For as long as I can remember I have always had a weird nail - when it grows it seems fine but then bends down. This is on my right index, my left does it but nowhere near as bad. Both my middle fingers have a very slight curve too. None have ever sustained damage to cause it. I've always had short nails as I hated the way the bend looks, it's really ugly (plus it was easier to massage with short nails!)
Anyway I am desperate to find something to stop it bending as I just want to have long nails without feeling self conscious as people do notice it!
I know it probably seems trivial to other people but it's bugging me. Have added some photos so you can see how bad it bends. I also included one of my middle finger starting to curve next to my ring finger which is fine. Would really appreciate any help/advice.
Oh and I hope I have posted in the right place :D IMG_4609.JPG IMG_4610.JPG IMG_4614.JPG IMG_4615.JPG

I have actually seen this before on my own clients. I would be interested to hear on what others would suggest

I have a client who has this on three fingers on one hand. She only gets gelish, she has been coming for about a year and within about 4 months her nails straightened out,one still has a slight curve to it but the other two are perfect.x

I have this on two of my nails and on the others I have extreme natural c-curve. I wear gel to help guide the bendy nails and keep the gel on the bendy nails a bit thicker. This works great for me. Alternatively, have them cut back before the bend and a short tip and gel applied. This will also help guide the nail.

I have a few nails that do this as well. It's one reason I wore acrylics for years & years.
Instead of them "helping" I noticed if the tips didn't have a PERFECT fit at the corners my natural nail would pull away as soon as the "edge" got completely past my fingertip.
I had to insist on having a tip on the larger size that was trimmed to fit.
Which is why I haven't gotten my nails done in over a year--my tech moved & just couldn't bare trying to explain the way I wanted/needed my nails done.
I'm not saying that the "eggshell" is what caused threse problems but it was almost always those nails that peeled away from underneath.
When I had my guy...No peeling! But he was always very careful about the fit on those 3 or 4 fingers.

I agree with the other post. They are eggshell nails
