I've noticed that whenever I take nail polish off my acrylics at the base of my nail and the acrylic appears to be soft and crumbly. Its not a lot but its enough to annoy me because it suddenly looks sloppy and its no longer a clean line. I usually dip a pad or a ball into non-acetone polish remover (Sally Beauty's Supply Beauty Secrets brand) and let sit until I've gotten cotton balls on all of my nails. I do this so it can break down the polish and is easier to remove. Am I leaving the cotton balls/pads on them too long?

I'm not a professional. I have an extensive nail polish collection and I like to change my polish often.

Any HELPFUL advice will be much appreciated. :Grope:

Please disregard. I was so pumped to find a forum with professionals talking about nails. But how disappointed I am to find that people are rude and it is really only a site for professionals that throw comments like "I've spent a lot of time and money to know what I do." Sounds like so many other professionals nail techs with their nose in the air. I get that you cannot give advice as this is a rule but to be rude and snide just goes to show that if this were not a rule they would not inform you anyway because they feel that ignorant uneducated customers line their pockets. Back to the the drawing board or maybe even makeup alley.

There are helpful people on this site that have extensive knowledge. .. but if i am not mistaken your grievance comes from the hair forum where you are asking about colour combinations and how to achieve a certain look by specifying the colour numbers. They won't tell you the answer because you are not professional. .. However, I can't quite get to grips why a professional only site allows every member of the public to view it but then can't ask questions. It seems pointless to me but in this instance without seeing the condition of the hair first I suppose the information given may be incorrect..... but anyway. ..

I'm sure someone will help you with your nail question. I don't deal with acrylics so I can't help you.

Surely you are just asking about changing your own nail polish, I'm a bit confused as to why that's an issue. I take it your acrylics are done by a pro?

I don't see a problem as to why anyone would be rude to you for wanting to remove nail varnish from your acrylic nails, I gather a lot of people who have acrylic nails done by a professional then change their varnish as often as they like while at home, I know I will be offering my clients advice on how to change their varnish at home once I'm qualified.

I'm sorry u can't really help with your question though, I presume you are leaving it on too long? X
