Hi hair geeks, I'm a beauty professional popping over to ask for some cheeky advice on how to colour my own hair!
I recently purchased a box of 'intense red Loreal Prestige 5.6 colour' from my local supermarket - mainly because I run my own business and have been so busy that I haven't had a minute to go to the hairdressers!
I have naturally strawberry blonde hair with some blonde high lights through it.
I tried a red tint (at the hairdressers) last winter which turned out great so thought I'd try it again - myself this timeHowever, I only left it on for 20 minutes because I found the product so strong (fumes burning my eyes etc.) and it's obviously turned out a bit pink. Not only that but my scalp has been really dry and flaky since.
I know that I should try and get an expert to do it but perhaps one of you lovely people wouldn't mind suggesting something that's perhaps a bit less potent, in your experience that I can use on myself in the meantime, but will give me more natural red/copper coloured hair.
I realise that the supermarket hair dye isn't in the same league as the professional colours but just wondered what I could use as an alternative, if anything.
Thanks!
