Non-strip or strip wax for brow shaping???

So far i have only used strip wax. Non-strip wax will soon be a feature in my salon and i think i will try doing half and half to see what my clients prefer. I think it was Angelina that suggested that, so thanks.

I have no problems with my strip wax, but i only do high leg bikini's. I have been told that non-strip is better as you go further in, for the labia, etc. What do you guys think?

Although you can get a lovely clean finish with strip wax, it's tough on the skin.

I use hot wax. Wax should only be used to remove the bulk of the hair and I would always use tweezers to perfect the shape to get it really sharp. xxx

hard/hot/non strip wax for me for intimate...it reaches the parts other waxes (and paper strips for that matter!) can't reach! :lol:

till half a year ago I would have totally agreed with the version of only ever using non-strip on intimate areas but since we have had a play with the new formulation of creme wax i have been amazed at the smooth results and how calm the skin remained.

Not only me but also others have tried on regular clients and everyone has confirmed that the creme wax has proven to be much more comfortable and a lot gentler to the skin - and that was even doing full female intimate waxing!!! So i have had to change my mind on this and would use creme wax for the intimate female and hard wax on the intimate male..... shows you never stop learning....lol... :hug:

As a seasoned wax technician I have used both strip (in many guises) and also non-strip (in various guises). Once I started to use non-strip on my regular waxers none of my clients would ever go back to strip.

In terms of waxing eyebrows which was indeed the original question, it would very much depend on the client's hair.

Just to clarify non strip as in 'hot wax'? I'm a beauty therapist but work in a spa where majority of waxing if eyebrows and not that much really. I learnt hot wax method at college and didn't get on with it, bought it to try at home and couldn't do the ledge properly to lift so it hurt trying to take off as if I was removing each hair slowly how do u get past this? Deffinetly want to attend intimate waxing or advanced intimate!

Non strip wax is a lot more gentle on the skin so is much better for delicate areas like lip and chin.
I have very sensitive skin on my face so my skin goes red on my lip even with non-strip wax. If i use strip wax though it is red and sore for 2 to 3 days! Not an attractive look-lol

I get all of my hair off practically with strip wax,I try to avoid using tweezers as much as possible on intimate wax areas as I find clients find it extremely sensitive individually tweezering hairs out Obviously it does need doing but I get nearly every last hair out with strip wax.

I was in house taught by an African lady about 8 years ago(this is on top of my qualifications obviously)and she was amazingly skilled in teaching how to hold the client and getting the client to hold herself to keep the skin taute and to get right in there with the wax.

I think it's all about your levels of confidence and ability,I do a lot of intimate waxing and feel very confident.If you are happy with non strip waxing and get good results great,if you are happy with strip waxing and get good results great too.But nobody can really say one is better than the other if we are getting the same results.

My clients have told me that they find non strip waxing far more uncomfortable than strip.So it seems it's swings and roundabouts on this subject really.Personally I think ALL intimate waxing is painful purely because of the process of having strong,terminal hair removed from the area.Be it strip or non strip:green:

I apply a thin layer of oil beforehand of course. I have many clients who have had their waxing done with non strip and they have stayed with me because they preferred my treatments. However they may have been to less competent therapists so it may not be the method.

It makes no difference to me what wax I use as long as my clients are happy, most have been with me since I began intimate waxing 10 years ago, the others have joined me by recommendation. I make my decision based on experience and have no financial interest in any type or brand of wax.

There is room for all of us, it is not just what the client likes but what we, as therapists, like to work with.

This is my opinion based on a lot of years experience and to be quite honest a lot of money wasted on new and expensive products that promise what they cannot deliver. By this I mean that if I can give a comfortable Hollywood, removing all the hairs and without any more tweezering than a few strays on the front, then how can that be dramatically improved upon?

I am waiting for the pain free wax that will anethsetise the area at the same time. Now that would be worth changing to!

One that contains something like Emla cream without the wait for the Emla cream to work it's miracles eh!!!That could make someone very rich indeed:green:
