Hi looking for a salon or individual who can perm hair spirally using the large molten brown perming rods.the bendy ones. Im finding it difficult to trust and even actually find somewhere to perm my hair, anyone know of anywhere or anyone..mobile or salon in the northampton area thanks
I would try and do it myself but I think I may have problems doing the back.

Yeah I thought about college but then again I wouldnt want to risk it, they are only training, I was after a salon really but since my post I got my friend to wind it for me shes a hairdresser but for whatever reason it didnt turn out so well and now Im back to having my hair straight.

I will message you!

Hi Paulette (and of course anybody else who may be interested)

I just wanted to say that you really have nothing to worry about with regards to Northampton college and the fact that they are training.

I was a hair student there last year as a mature student and we were fully supervised everystep of the way with each step being checked by a tutor before being able to move on to the next step.

I do understand being nervous about getting your hair done by a trainee and although I cannot speak for any salons and how they conduct there training I can say that as far as the college is concerned they are very stringent when going for assessment as they have to follow strict guidelines set out by City & Guilds.

Please remember that everybody was a trainee at some point and there would be no qualified hairdressers if the students never had clients but if you are nervous about getting your hair done by a trainee then talk to a tutor beforehand. The college has many regular clients that return year after year so they are obviously doing something rght

Sorry for writing a novel lol I just wanted to put peoples minds at ease

i agree :green:, students in college are probably a lot better than a lot of places to be honest , i have seen some right disasters walking out of salons .. u very very rarely get that in college .. plus i dont know about now but spiral perms were a level 3 thing when i was in college , so only advanced students could do em anyway , hope this helps x

Yes your right Dee spiral perms are level 3 as they are specialist perms I teach them at the college in surrey.
