So for my home and mobile clients I use a bowl for pedicures and just use a foot soak and warm water to soak their feet, but I have since started renting a space in a hair salon and they have a foot spa (not sure which make yet) that they brought for the previous person who was in there. They're very lovely people and kitted out most of the room themselves for the previous person who then took absolutely no interest in being in work, hence me taking over.

Now I'm intrigued by this foot spa as its there I think it will be great to use on clients as I do have alot of pedicures booked in at the moment. But I have no idea what to do or how they work.

I was taught just with a bowl. Just wondering if anyone could give me a little insight as to how they work?

thanks geeks

A picture would be great as there's sooo many :p normally you have all the controls in the front part of the foot base. So water, the open close valve for the stopper in the bath and the on/off button for the jets.

The first thing I would do is invest in jet cleaner and clean the jet system out (even if its pipe less). It's incredible the stuff that gets in there! Run a cycle according to the cleaning products directions.

When using with a client (or cleaning :p) fill the bath up with water, the temperature lever is the same like shower, make sure the water is above the jets. Usually marked out my silver grates on the front side inside the bath it self. Press the little silver button and this starts the jets, press again when you complete to turn of the jets and then turn the dial to open the valve inside and drain the bath.

For cleaning, no abrasives etc. get a spray disinfectant and use that between clients. Ideally you should be using the jet disinfectant between clients to clean the jets but almost everywhere doesn't do this as a cleaning cycle is 15min. At the end of the day run a jet clean cycle and wipe dry with a soft cloth.

It should also have a massage chair. Don't let the clients play around with it :p ask of they would like a back massage, explain the chair does this. On the remote press on and then auto. There should be a timing button, press and set to 30min (usually the max) and put the remote back in the holder or behind the chair

Hope this helps!

great thanks, i will have a proper look and investigate on the spa, as i only glanced at it once last week when she told me about it. and then i'll will have a look for an instruction manual and then give it a good clean (obviously the best way to work this out) and then perhaps next week i can start using it.
