EEEEK, first post how nerve wracking!

I went for an interview with LCBT (london college of beauty therapy) last week and will hopefully be starting on the 5th november doing 2 days a week there on an nvq level 2 beauty therapy with make up and i am beyond excited!
i was just wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom on all sorts of aspects on the beauty and make up industry, how to stay top of the class, any tips or tricks, good brands, good books and any other general knowlage so i can be the best that i can be at beauty therapy and make up artistry!

thanks beauty lovers!!!

Hi and welcome. You need to make sure you practice on as many friends and family as you can. Ie with waxing and manicures. Painting someone else's nails is very different to painting your own. Practice with dark colours and French.

Do lots of research, stay clued up on different products and the latest trends.
Get yourself a wax pot and a mobile beauty couch ASAP. Christmas presents?

As for beauty books, when I did my level 2 I found the NVQ 2 beauty therapy by Jane Hiscock and Frances Lovette was perfect, but then I'm biased as they both taught at my college.:p no seriously, it covers everything you need to know in your level 2 and really is very informative with detailed pictures of treatments etc.
Hth a little and enjoy your course.

Thank you so much for that advice, I'm so nervous to start! I will definitely look at getting a wax pot and beauty couch! Christmas presents:) do you know where I could get that book you suggested?
