Hi. I wanted to know what your thoughts are on doing ombre if you're doing the roots as well. Which method would be better?

Do you need to lighten the ends aswell or just colour the roots?

I need to lighten the ends as well which have been previously lightened but with a base 7 colour on top as well. This is a new client and has very long hair and jet black roots. She wants a chocolate brown on her roots to a silver ombre. Not sure which would be the best method?

hmmmm, i think silver may be a step too far, has she shown you some pictures of what she wants.

I would apply your chosen colour to the roots, then blend through different strength lightners through the ends x

Yes she has shown me and its a platinum white and silvery tones and wants me to use olaplex on her and is willing to pay extra to get that result. I hadnt thought of that i just dont want any solid lines but no doubt could blend the lightner upwards. Thank you x

Maybe once u put the Base colour on give it a backcomb at the rootsame and apply the lightner and feather it up to the backcomb this is the stylist in my salon do and it always comes out very well blended.

Olaplex isn’t a magic wand hair, she can pay however much she wants but the fact is bleach will only lighten a certain amount

If her mid lengths and ends are a base 7 im sure by lightening it i should get the desired look? Or am i being too optimistic?

What about her black roots?

It’s her hair is tinted a level 7 then has it been bleached first?

I can lighten her roots to a brown without using bleach... and then want a nice blend as i go lighter towards the ends. Her hair has been ombre'd previously but she wasnt happy with results as her ends were very brassy and wasnt the colour she had asked for. It seems an ash based colour was put on top to try and remove the brassiness however once faded her hair went a orangy shade at level 7. I would have to re bleach the ends no doubt to take them alot lighter using olaplex and tone to a nice platinum shade hopefully. I just wanted to know a good and efficient method as im doing roots as well.

I would just question if the hair was naturally her black that’s all
