Evening,

I have been having an issue with one client today when applying the OPI UV Nail Lacquer. On some of her nails the polish literally takes AGES to cure!

I've spent hours doing it and fixing smudges/finger print marks and am at the end of my tether. Hoping so much that this evenings re-do will last her as I really don't want to offer a bad service, nor get a bad reputation as I have started up my own business.

She doesn't have very long nails so it is very hard to cap her nails. I have said to her that maybe her nails just need three/four very thin coats of polish rather than the usual two thicker coats everyone else has. Does this sound reasonable?

Any suggestions?

Could it be my UV lamp isn't strong enough and I should invest in an LED lamp?

I have come across this issue once of twice before on a few fingernails of other clients, but generally it hasn't been an issue.

All help gratefully appreciated xx

I use OPI Gel Colour and it's a 30 sec cure in the OPI led Lamp.

I think it is a lamp issue? The OPI LED lamps are amazing and every single part on the nail bed is cured properly.

If you contact Lena White they'll be able to give you the price of a new lamp.

Hello,

Thanks for your quick response.

It is not OPI gel colour I am using though, but instead their UV Nail polish. Does that make a difference?

I purchased the nail lacquer from Lena White so know its not fake etc, but personally hadn't wanted to spend soooo much on an OPI lamp as the ones I saw a while ago were incredibly expensive. Has started to seem like money only goes out for this business rather than in, thus was trying to keep the costs down.

Hello!

Take a pic of the bottle and post on here, then I'll know what you are using xx

Does it look like this? ImageUploadedBySalonGeek1393534910.035729.jpg

Hello

That's normal nail polish so will not cure in a UV or LED lamp.

If you want this to dry quickly use some OPI drip dry drops and a little Avoplex cuticle oil (after your top coat) around the cuticle x

I think before you do any more manicures that you should book yourself on an OPI gel colour training course. Capital hair and beauty and Lena White both provide the education for this, they'll show you the proper procedure to enable you to get the best out if the system.

Thanks so much for your help Balance Andover. x
