Hi,

Just after some advice please.....I am using soak off gel for my gel extensions and am finding after I have cured the builder layer and wiped to do a final file sometimes the gel starts to peel away when I am filing, not peeling from the natural nail but just within the gel if that makes sense? I have been told I may have not cured for long enough but after trying this it is still sometimes happening, not on every nail either. Does anyone have advice on what the problem may be please?

Thanks

I'd agree that it's not fully cured.
Are you using the recommended lamp for the gel?

What gel brand are you using and what lamp? It definitely sounds like an under curing issue.

To add to the above, if it keeps happening on the thumbs then perhaps you need to cure these separately as sometimes the angle doesn't fully hit the gel properly :) definitely check finger placement and lamp compatibility.

Thank you for replying. I use essential nsils soak off gel and their led lamp. I have checked the timings with them. I thought maybe I sometimes do it too thick but it has also happened on thin areas. I'll keep at it. Thanks.

Hi, I do cure the thumbs separately but thank you for the advice. Good idea to check finger placement though. Maybe they are not all in far enough. Thanks.
