Hi, all
OK, a little history. I had a perm when I was 13 (done by my aunty who is a qualified hairdresser) which turned out frizzy and nasty, so I washed it to make the curls drop. It was a horrible experience, and I'm a bit worried to try it again (although I'd be going to a salon this time). Since then I have been dying my own hair with box dye, recently sticking to L'Oreal Paris Feria Hair Colour 3D Shade P37 Plum Power.
My hair is naturally wavy at the sides, but not at the back. I don't straighten it any more because I simply can't be bothered with how it goes wavy again in hours - I just brush and go. My hair has a little volume just after I've brushed it but then it tends to look flat. Curly hair suits me very much and I'd love to be able to wake up with it looking decent ready for my clients.
I like my hair just above my shoulders (it's just below now, having curls would make it a bit shorter). My question is, do you think a perm is a good idea? I don't want tight curls, something soft and bouncy but low-maintenance. How do you care for a perm properly? Would I have to spend hours every morning making it look decent?
Thanks in advance for your help, if you need more info please let me know
