Hi

I'm not a qualified hair dresser. Please can someone tell me where i can find personal liability insurance if i want to fit hair extensions. I have no other hairdresser qualifications and I'm finding it difficult to get insured

Thanks in advance

Usually, the hair extensions training company have a deal with an insurance company who will accredit the training. Who did you do your training with?

Thanks for your response. It was Rapunzal hair academy

If you scroll down their website page, they state the 2 insurance companies that they have arrangements with. These are the companies that may offer to quote you. Without having a minimum of a level 2 in hairdressing, you won’t be able to purchase insurance from industry standard insurance companies such as salon gold as you don’t hold a nationally recognised qualification.

However, I’m not surprised no-one else will offer insurance as the ‘training’ being offered is a joke. It’s all done via manuals with NO practical hands on training.

OP, you need proper hands on training when doing any type of hairdressing. It’s not something you can learn by just reading a book. I’m sorry, they’ve taken your money. These companies should be closed down for misleading advertising!:mad:

Yes i completely agree with you!!!!!!!

My training- so called training, was made up of random videos which i later found on youtube

Plus the videos were all different. Not consistent in the application of hair extensions at all!

But thanks for pointing me in the right direction

If you’re interested in learning about hairdressing, contact your local college to see what courses they offer. The training you receive will be legitimate and more suitable for your needs.

Personally, I think all hair extensions courses should be classed as CPD courses for qualified hairdressers and approved by HABIA. There are far too many cowboy extensionists offering cheap hair and poor service and lowering the standing of the industry.

Yes, thank you. I have already been in contact with them.
