Photographing glitter?

Does anyone have any tips or certain apps they use when photographing glitter nails and toes?
I do quite alot of twinkle toes and fine it so hard to show off the glitter?

I've heard putting the toes or fingers in water helps highlight the glitter effect - not tried it so can't be sure but I'm sure I read it on a nail blogging site once

Yeah that's the one. Really makes a big difference
