Hey geeks do you all have a picture of yourselves on ur web page. Im debating on weather to or not as you number is their too?? any suggestions would be great

Hi ive only recently created my website, and i toyed over this for a while too. After trawling through other peoples sites i decided i was drawn to the sites that did have a pic of the stylist/therapist.. and personally if i had to choose between 2 stylists..one who i could see had a lovely friendly face, and the other i had no idea who to expect..then id go with the friendly one. i think it can be a little intimidating for the client to invite a stranger into their home, or them visit you in your home salon..i think its a little re-assuring for the client to see who you are.x

Personally I wouldn't.

I just don't like the thought of advertising my face to all and sundry. If you use my services thank you very much and you are entitled to know what I look like - otherwise I prefer to be private.

Fred West had quite a cheery looking trusting face lol.

Very much down to the individual though.

I don't have my photograph on my website for all the reasons Jacqui stated. As I work from a clinic in my home it makes me even more cautious. I get plenty of bookings through my website so it's not putting everyone off. If you've unsure then why not try a website without...you can always add a photo at a later date.

absolutely agree

I had a session with a business mentor and she told me to put a picture of myself on website. I ignored the idea, which was a mistake! I attend networking groups and most of the people who attend do 1-2-1 services and have pictures of themselves on their sites. I had some professional shots done on special offer, and put them on. Lots a clients have commented how they liked the idea they could put a face to a name, they felt like they already knew me before they even met me. Personally now I'm a convert, I feel if in my business, visiting clients in their own homes, offering them a service, they want to see and feel confident about the person they are allowing into their homes.

Salon websites have pictures of the salon at every angle, so you can see the environment , they have pictures of all the staff! Why should a sole trader be any different. You are selling yourself, your business is you.
