Pinching

Iv seen a few threads where people have mentioned pinching tips with fingers and tongs! Do I sound really stupid when I as why? I havent heard of this until now?

this is a technique that is used to help make nails look more stream line.
it helps get rid of the "hips" that can be there at the smile line.
