Do you mean ONYCHOCRYPTOSIS??

if you do it means ingrown nail, which is more often seen on toes but can occur on fingers too.
Its basically where the nail is digging into the side wall right by the free edge. Can cause inflammation and a lot of pain, hope this helps.

Just looked this up and it is a condition that is the result of disease or injury and involves the loss of one or mor nails.

Sorry can't help further

Hi no its not the one where its an ingrowing toe nail!! i have spelt it right and it does have somethink to do with ur nail coming of from Trudi

thankyou i found what i was looking for

Hi Trudi

Description from my course notes from college:

Onychoptosis is a periodic shedding of the whole nail or just part of it. It can affect several nails. May be associated with other conditions such as alopecia. If confined to one part of the nail it may be due to permanent damage of the matrix.

No clue what alopecia is though!!

Jeni

Alopecia is "hair Loss"
