plucking chin hair

when I pluck my poor mum's chin, I am finding that the hairs seem to be growing deeper within the skin.

does plucking make this happen? am I making it worse?

my work collegue treid to wax them once and they seemed to snap off and hardly any came out.
any suggestions?

Plucking does make the hairs stronger because it stimulates the blood supply it can also distort the follicle so they grow distorted and can grow in.Hand sugaring may get them out better but i think i would advise electrolysis.

On chin hair it quite often does yes its the way the hair grows from the follicle and it cant be waxed in the necessarily the right direction because there almost isnt one..hope im making some kind of sense here.

Plucking and waxing give the same results,just waxing removes a larger amount quicker than tweezering.

The problem with the chin area is you have vellus hair,which is very soft baby hair and the follicles tend not to be deep. You also have terminal which is very strong.These are generally the ones that people have problems with.

Terminal hair grows from much deeper follicles.Making them harder to remove.

I would suggest,rather than having electroysis(although you may tend to go for this if all else fails)that you try hot waxing.This is especially for stronger hair growth,such as Asian hair or bikini.

Electrolysis is an excellent form of permanent hair removal but it can take a couple of years to totally kill the hair follicle,its costly and requires a real commitment from the client as several appointments are needed a month to get on top of the different hair growth stages.HTH

Im still going with electrolysis especially as the hairs are getting stronger.I guess it depends how many she has if it just a bunch either side of her chin these would be ideal for treatment.It can be expensive but a good therapist can remove a good few in 5 minute treatments which you pay for accordingly.Find someone who specialises in electrolysis though and has a good few years experience and does it regularly otherwise you risk ineffective treatment and scarring.
