Hi, I’ve got a client with particularly weak nails. But wants to keep shellac on. Her nails were weak before so they’ve not been damaged by the shellac. (She’s only had it twice)
Is there anything I can use underneath the shellac to help treat the natural nail??

Hey lovely!
IBX is supposed to be amazing for helping the growth of nails. Or maybe introducing a hard gel underneath to help the growth?

I'm trained in Jessica products and we were told we can put a treatment basecoat (a standard polish base) underneath. Xx

I’ve heard of IBX, i’ll do some research.
Thanks for the idea xx

Brittle nails may be treated with vitamin supplements. Biotin, zinc, and iron are known to improve nail strength. Sufferers may also try moisturizers, fortified nail polish, and a nail-protecting regimen that includes the avoidance of harsh soaps.

Peeling nails are usually a symptom of physical or chemical stress on the hands. Nutrient deficiencies and overexposure to water may also cause peeling nails. The problem may even be something as simple as cold, dry weather. Thus, peeling nails may be prevented or treated by carefully paying attention to lifestyle and environmental factors that affect the hands. Glycerin, petrolatum, and mineral oil moisturizers usually help.

I’m sorry but this information is wrong. Any kind of normal polish products -except IBX- will ruin your shellac application. You’d best stay away from them.
IBX is actually absorbed by the nail layers so it doesn’t affect what’s put on top afterwards

100% IBX! My mum had peeling split weak nails for years, polish would chip after a day and Shellac would lift in less than a week. I have been using IBX on her as often as I can with great results she can now wear her Shellac for 2-3 weeks!!! This is along with her taking good care of her nails as well. Have also just purchased the IBX Boost which is like a strengthening gel layer to apply under any gel polish/Shellac, awaiting results for this though.
