not when im doing french tip, coz the 'well' is only short anyway, and they fits nicely on the ends of the nails, but i do shorten them when im doing one main colour, especially if the client has a small nail plate. but why i was asking about the 'popits' was if there is a 'well' in them, then i wont have to buy anymore, but if they havn't (which i dont think they have) then i will have to buy them tomorrow. but all will be made clear tomorrow.

Can anyone tell me where on earth they got the name PopIts from? If I were a client (and presumably clients will get to know what they are called), I would interpret something called a PopIt as something a) simple and easy to do - just pop it on b) possibly a bit gimicky c) something cheap and possibly not as professional as a traditional method of application.

Is it me??

I don't like the sound or the look of anything I've seen about them. I feel it's almost like cheating, (a bit like using iron on tape for a hem instead of a good honest sewn up hem) and makes a mockery of the skills that I and hundreds of other techs have spent yonks perfecting . . .

Go on blast me now LOL

A few wee questions for the poppits lol

Will there be any demo's in any of the one stop nail shops? (Leeds was just a bit far for me to get to) Is there going to be training or do you just need to see a demo? and is there a video or tutorial ?

Thanks xxxx

Have just done my nails with popits, they look very pretty! had a few problems as you do! a few bubbles and had to file back and do again, a little seepage cos i had put to much product in , but i still finished way before i used too! And they look beautiful cant post pic cos my battery is flat on my camera, but i wouldnt worry about just anyone doing them , because i think a bit of practise is needed as with anything to perfect the technique.I cant stop looking at my nails:hug: , i would have never have gotten them so perfect using a brush (not so good with my left hand):)

I totally agree ...I have almost done my full hand ....just soaking last nights off...to finish the hand lol...
3 nails took me 8 minutes to apply !

They look gorgeous I will post pictures soon.
I think I will call them dual system forms ...
and dual system form application in my price lists and stuff...
only because popits makes me think of those minty chocolate sweets yummm.and makes me want them every time i say it :green:

I had a question...but i forgot it now ive waffled to much ...and got distracted since starting my post lol

Its so satisfying to pop of the form, and see the shine , i am addicted already , it can only get better ( the better i get at it) , Gigi made it look easy! But i know anyone i show is going to be impressed! It has the wow factor:)

Hi there, sort of a lurker here in the U.S. I've read a lot of the threads and I read that you can rebalance using the poppits. Just wondering if this is your basic one color rebalance or if you can do a "back fill" too, and if anyone can enlighten me on how that could be done in 20 min since this is (as has been mentioned) our bread and butter in this business. If anyone had this question answered or knows exactly how, I would so appreciate the info.

we all know that brisa gels do the best with clear tips or forms....
the popits is clear or not?
they will go on also with brisa gel?

I havent seen the demo yet, was hoping to get to Leeds tomorrow but now am working. I did order my Poppits on Tuesday and they have arrived today. Now although I am trained in l & p (vtct) I am a gel girl. I have however done two nails tonight using l & p on the Poppits and I am very very impressed.

I am so looking forward to seeing a demo so if any of you Leicester ladies fancy a get together evening I am game (Angie, Amber) are you there:hug::hug::hug:

As far as i know you can use with gel,i saw Gigi do a gel demo , and the gel nail was fab! You still do thin layer first then cure, then fill popit and apply:)

This gets better by the minute.

I'm glad someones had the guts to say it!, for the life of me I dont get it, yes it may be helpful to a tech who cant do her dominant hand with the other.. thats fine... but techs who suck at creating a hand made nail will fall back on these as a replacement to actually building a SKILL, (ok yeah there may be skill in applying the popit but theres no hand crafting) this is the last thing I want to see fall into my students hands, what a waste of time teaching them how to do things right if theres a 'cheats' way to fall back on.

I think the name sounds appealing to techs as it brings images of doing something easily and quickly.

...but as for clients, they don't need to know what they're called, right? Just another app method.

...as for me I am excited to use them on myself as it takes me HOURS to do a good set... not sure if it's something I would use on clients til I try it out....

I think I am going to refer to them as
"dual system forms" to clients ...just roll's easier off my tongue for some reason lol....makes me sound posher :green:

just to add though,
The clients and friends I have said the word popits to so far ...smile and they love it ....
age range average 17 - 30 ish

I'm in the US so I can't get Popits. I used OPI's structure clear tips and got good results. They had a great arch and C-curve. I use gel and was wondering if you have to "cook" it longer under the UV light. I never got a good shine and sometimes it wasn't even hard after 2 minutes.

You absolutely CAN get Popits here in the USA. I ordered some today from this Beauty Supply: Ask for YsNail forms-

If you aren't getting a full shine, you might need to replace your bulbs. A Clear tip is just fine for curing. :) What kind of gel are you using?? ANd with what lamp?

I will have them in about 5-7 days. :)

I use Akzentz Gel. My bulbs are good, I cure for 2 minutes. Maybe I just get too excited and check them too much. I am going to try again after the babbies go to bed. How much were the forms you got?

I got 100 for $30 including my shipping. :) I think yes, you might be too excited lol.

Thanks Heather. Can You do Pink & White gel with these? Would you freeze the white before you do he pink? How much gel do you put in?

Don't know, haven't experiemented just yet- I would think that you would HAVE to freeze the white, or else it would just make a smooshed mess... :)
