Hi, I'm getting all my things together before going mobile and looking into different portable backwashes.
I can't find anywhere selling a comfywash (I'm gutted as I used to have one aaaaages ago but sold it, why? why? why?!!) but I saw another type that fits to a sink somehow.

It's item number 110631046950 on ebay.

Has anyone used this? Is it any good?

Thanks
L x

I had a comfywash and gave it away!!!:irked: - fool, because I want another one as well! I'm not sure about those trays I looked into it as well but they velcro around the neck and I'm not sure thats a good idea??
I was thinking about a portable backwash but not sure about that either?? let me know how you get on.:)

Ive just noticed the strap around the neck! Dont think I'll be going for that one!
I could kick myself about the comfywash, i only sold it for a tenner too!

I do want one on a stand with the drain but really want a comfywash!
Why did they stop making them?

I just did a google search and came up with a website dedicated to the comfywash, I rang the moulding manufacturer and he said they stopped making them because there wasn't much call for them, I tried to talk him into making them again and he said they've thrown the mould away! :irked:

I have one ( sorry to gloat) and find it indespensible! I wanted a spare tho just in case and started to watch them on ebay however they have been making just shy of £100.!!!!!!

Rub it in why don't you!?!? Someone got a good bargain out of me then!
I'll keep looking....

anyone out there with a business head could persuade meka mouldings to start production again, I'm sure with internet advertising now they would make a go of it?? the website is www.comfywash.com and number for moulding company is 01376 551546 - there isn't anything else on the market with the same function is there?
I gave mine away to a residential home when I wasn't hairdressing anymore and I'm pretty sure it went in the skip  I'm sure it would be an international seller now, I think mine only cost about £15 when I bought it in the mid '90's

If you go onto the website and press the contact button you can email the designer denis pound directly, I've just sent my plea, maybe we could get a campaign up and encourage him to rethink production???

Good on you!! I want one too, defo a campaign sounds like a plan lol

I'd be interested in one too!

Fab idea! I wouldn't know where to start though? We could get everyone phoning everyday to ask for one until they get so fed up of us they go back into production? Not sure how effective that would be though...

Surely even if they threw the mould out they would still have the design plans for it? Was it patented, in which case the patent application would be somewhere...

I'm wandering if they're thinking that throwing it away was a bad idea now! I am going follow penners lead and get in touch, don't ask don't get. Will keep you updated!

I've had contact with the designer, he says they went out of production in 2002 and the company that originally made them scrapped the mould and to remake it would cost £100000. I'm sure someone with enough of a business head could make it a good business? pitch it to dragon's den?
anyway the man has a few left and is going to sell me one for £30. :)woohoo ....result! I don't know if he'd be willing to sell anymore? poor man won't know what hit him if you all contact him!!

Well done! I've been trying to call but can't get through, so sent an email. Fingers crossed!

Ive just taken a look...i didnt even know these things existed!!!
Although all my c/bds have their hair washed ready for me this would be great for rinsing off colours!

I've just emailed him :)

Not quite sure why it would cost so much to produce them again!

Woo! He's emailed back offering me one for £30!

Me too! good work geeks x
