Hi all just need a little advice, I have a friend who has a full head highlights with a little regrowth, natural base 6 and wants to go to like a 6/71 colour touch, she is also a hairdresser and we are having a little debate about whether it will need prepigging or can the 6/71 go straight on any opinion appreciated thanks folks :)

Personally I always prepig with a Quasi especially if its full head bleach highlights, then tins off and apply desired colour in Quasi :) what brand you using?

Wella thank you, I've never done this without prepigging and don't really want to either I was hoping someone would agree so I can show her this!! It's wella she seems to think you don't have to pre pig with wella but I always have and was taught to :o thank you again blue :)

There are colours you don't have to prepig with in wella but 6/71 isn't one of them and to be honest if she has full head bleach highlights better to prepig and be on the safe side maybe go for 6/75 or 6/77 ? Lovely colours that's the closest I can think you can use to get a nice mocha colour

Fab thank you :) x

Just remember whenever covering blonde add that warmth, the darker down from the blonde the more warmth, 6/71 is dodgy that 1 on the end being ash and all, prepig or add a 2cm of 0/43 mixtone to your mix to be safe.

Yeh I was thinking of pre pigging with warmth then adding the 6/71 on top as I was panicking that the 1 would give it that greeny tinge :o xx

I would pre pig, and maybe use the 6/77 instead of the 6/71 because of the ash. x

Yea, the gold/warm tones are 1st to be swallowed up by the hair when going darker so definitely either pre pig with perfecton or use the /43 mix tone in with your colour :)
