I am just in the middle of changing my price lists
ive been open 1 year an feel i need to change my prices
i currently charge 25 pound per set of tips

do you think if i jump it up by 5pound that will be to much of a jump?
do i do it gradually or what ?
like say 28 instead of 25 per set
an 14 pound instead of 12 per infill

what do you suggest
i know this is cheap maybe to what you guys charge but i have to try
an becarefull as this is the going rate in my area

i dont want to lose my clients an say oh shes put her prices up to high
advice of anyone would be grateful many thanks xx

hi hayley,

i havnt got a clue really, but if it was me i would do it gradually and just say stock prices are on the up. I think i am going to have to put mine up in the new year because i am quite cheap compared to the salons around me but i am mobile so its hard to judge it.

Hi Hayley

Have you thought about putting £5 on a full set because your old clients already have a fullset on so it wouldnt really effect them, it would be aimed at new clients..! Just add a few pounds on your infills

Hi, I Think Alot Also Depends On Whose Product You Are Using As Some Are More Expensive Than Others. I Have Been In Business For 3yrs And My Price Is £27.00 For A Full Set And I Use Creative. There Are Some Salons Locally That Charge Less ( Approx £24) But I Have Seen Some Of Their Work And Was Not Impressed. I Am Thinking Of Raising My Price Slightly To£29 For Xmas, After All It Is 1 1/2 Hours Work Plus Product. I Could Do 4 Full Body Sprays In That Time For £100!!!!!!

After about 18 months I have just put my prices up as I fely my work was worth it and the cost of my childcare went up lol!!

I went from £25 to £30 for a full set and from £15 to £17.50 for a rebalance....no one has complained or moaned at all.

I made sure I advertised the fact prices were going up well in advance, I had a small poster behind my desk and one of those little plastic stand up frames on the waiting area table.

I would certainly charge more for the rebalance's, working on the basis that you do more rebalance's than new sets. Your don't say whether your prices are for pink and white and whether that includes any replaced/repaired nails.

If your customers are pleased with work, don't suffer with lifting or losing nails, then I'd say your prices do not reflect your skill. I would increase your rebalance prices, even by £2.50. If your clients are worth keeping, they will pay the extra. :D

I'd go with the small increase to £28.00 and say £14.50-15.00 for the infills, the highest they usually pay in our area is £30.00 to £35.00, there charging £40.00 for a full set in Beatties in Wolverhampton and there not short of customers. But a small increase wouldn't be noticed so much by your existing customers, and they'd probably be happy to pay, because otherwise it means them having to find another a therapist that suits them and also its coming up to christmas now and they most likely won't find many people charging less.

I would definately increase the infills ... I decided to put my new sets at a competitive price for my area, therefore gaining the clients initially but I raised the infill price slightly higher than my competition on the basis that if the client goes away happy and is satisfied with her new nails then she will come back to me for infills etc and will not quibble the price ... seems to be working at teh moment lol ... my clients get the same care and papmpering and have not complained at price ... those that do were never likely to be regulars anyway just one offs so i still get them for the one new set. I fully intend to raise both prices when i feel i have the relative experience and qualifications ... I was terrified at what to charge and that if i charge too much people wont come but IMHO we are worth every penny ... I like most on here am working so hard to be a good nail technician.

Take care
Jo xx
