Hi all,
I’m thinking I need to increase my prices. I haven’t done so now for 4 and a half years and I was wondering if any of you had any advice on how to word it and also how much notice of an increase is an acceptable amount of time?

Many thanks

Hi there, if your salon hasn't had an increase in such a long time you may need to implement a staged increase. We did this when we took over a salon that hadn't had an increase in over three years. We used that exact info as to why the prices would be increasing on the notice we put up at reception, a month before the increase. The team also told clients what would be happening. Most long standing clients appreciated that with increased suppliers costs and wage increases, prices needed to go up. A few grumbled, but did they go elsewhere? No. They knew how lucky they had been paying the same price for all that time. We have just had a further increase on a couple of other services that had been far too low originally, bringing them into line with the other prices. The team were worried that with two increases we would lose clients. We haven't and now we have a team who really realise their worth and business is good. Have PM'd you notice [emoji1303]
