Looking into branding our own product line does anyone have any hints or tips on where to even start? Tia

What you need to create first is a brand identity. This means having a logo, a moto, design some graphics, think about packaging, find out where to actually produce your items, give it a few tries, find a typographer etc
I'd start with a graphic designer and coordinate with whoever is going to produce your items
