Hi.. I have full head bleached blonde hair, quite whitey, and I want it like a light brown colour with dark blonde tones through it, like Lauren Conrads...

I have asked my hairdresser to do this but she said it is not possible coz my hair is so blonde? She said she would have to "pre pig it" and put quite a warm rich brown on it to get the blonde out. Or just have lowlights put through my hair and build this up until it gets darker...

What do u suggest? I'm just wondering whether I should go somewhere else if it can be done.

Thank you for your help.

It sounds like you may have got confused a bit from what she said. Sounds like she knows what she's doing! She will have to prepig to get it to your target colour. Think you might have thought she said she can do it but will have to do something else to get to that?

If it is I'd do a full head foils, couple of different blondes and a brown. Take a picture in to your hairdresser because she may not actually know what colour you mean?
It won't need any pre-pigging to get that colour.

Yeah thats the colour I want to go!

She said it will go green if she does it that colour from my bleached blonde? She said she will have to put a darker colour on but I dont want to go any darker than Lauren's hair.

I have seen people go from my colour to light brown colours so I dont see the problem but I dont know much about hair colouring.

People have more drastic things done like going from black to blonde etc so I didnt think it would be hard but she's making out as though its not possible to do straight away it will take a while?!

xx

If you were going full head brunette, dark enough, then it would need pre-pigging so your hair didn't go green. If you were to have full head foils to match the colours she has, the brown used would have a tone of red to stop it having a green glow. By the looks of it though the brown used isn't even that dark.

Just remember it won't look EXACTLY the same as hers so don't be disappointed. That's not to say it won't look good or be as close as hers. She probably didn't achieve that colour in one sitting; it may have been a gradual build up of colours. If you look at the picture she looks quite rooty (not a bad thing). So just use it as a rough idea if you're following me?
Sounds like your hairdresser doesn't feel up to the challenge/doesn't know how to re-create that colour. Find yourself a hairdresser with the confidence/knowledge to give you what you want. Take the picture in as a reference. Take a few pictures in if it helps. If you were in the Norfolk area I'd LOVE to do that for you lol

I agree with viva glam, also prepare for some quick fading if your hair is full head bleach.

Google "bronde hair" and you'll get some good reference pictures come up. This sounds like the colour you are aiming for if I'm right?

Yeah 'bronde' hair is the colour I am after I just googled it :)

No I don't live in the norfolk area unfortunately :( so would I be able to get bronde hair in one sitting or not? I have been going to the same hairdresser for years but I'm really not confident about her doing this one. I've been told it will fade the first time I have it done so will probs need to go back again pretty quickly.

I will defo be taking my iPhone with me to show them how I want it! Lol

You can achieve it in one sitting but as I said it's a build up of colours. So it'll look better after having it done a couple of times or so because the colours from the first time will have faded some but will still be in the hair alongside the new colours. So you'll have lots of lovely different shades and it'll blend like it's almost natural. It can fade but not majorly. You might find your hair soaks it up like a sponge. I'd go for a full head foils then go for T-sections between. If you see someone in the street with the colour you like go and ask them where they got their hair done, that might be the best way for you to find the hairdresser for you.

Yeah good idea thank u for your help I can't wait to get it done now! :)

Hopefully I'll be able to find a hairdresser by Saturday!

You won't go green if she nips in a smidgin of red and you won't even see the red when it's in. I've had clients ask for this and it's not difficult at all. Maybe go to another salon for there opinion and take piccy in. I always say you can go darker but not lighter is my motto.

Yeah that's what I've been told that it just needs a tiny bit of red in it but it won't be noticeable :) thank you. I'm ringing round hairdressers today to see if they can do it! Xx

I've rang another hairdressers and explained how I want it and they said its fine! They didnt say there would be a problem or anything :) so i'm booked in with them on Saturday. It wont matter that they dont know my hair or the exact bleach i've had on it will it? I'm such a worrier!

I'd take a few pictures in just to be sure she knows exactly what you want. Get her to show you what colours she is going to put on it.

Hey.. Just wanted to let you know I've had my hair done and absolutely LOVE it! It's a light brown with different tones through it looks just like laurens, I'm so happy I did it looks so much better than the blonde! Thanks for your help and reassurance! Just hope it doesn't fade too much now, can you recommend any good colour locking shampoo and conditioners? Thanks again! :) x

Glad your colour came out okay. Pureology is good for coloured hair or Paul Mitchell Colour Care.

The following steps are useful for your hair blonde.

1. First painted red. Permanent red color. You can buy permanent red dye on the market.

2. Especially after washing, the red dye, and while still wet, put permanent dye on dark brown hair.

3. That's it.
until it grows. whichever comes first principle every color of bleached hair was long, it is necessary to brown coluor can not recover, you must first go into the red.
