Howdy geeks,

I am wondering if any of you out there can help me on this - I'm getting married in July and I need something to get hubby for his skin coming up to the wedding to make him glow :green:

He has quite sensitive / sometimes dry skin, can anyone recommend a professional brand they have had success with?

I'm looking for something that will exfoliate, moisturise etc

Hiya

If you pm me your address I'll send you some Vitru samples, that's the male range from Susan Molyneux :)

aw come on ! i can think of something that will make his skin glow and its free:green::smack::wink2:

how about a course of facials if not a regular home skin care regime including exfoliating - dont think my hubby EVER exfoliates!

A good detox...no booze/**** etc if he does indulge

Solar oil now and again wouldnt go a miss either unless he has greasy skin of course!

Another thing..bit of a no no these days but a short session of sunbeds clears up any bad skin and will give him a nice colour too....cant hurt too much if its a one off.

Good luck it'll be here before you know it !

AMB :eek::green::green:

You cheeky minx!! lol - plenty of that ta!! :o he he he

Thats the thing, he doesnt drink, doesnt smoke, gets exercise - but I must admit he doesnt even use soap on his face the dirty bugger  Only exfoliates when I literally hand him the pot in the bath / shower!!! Men eh?!

I agree about the sunbeds - I have suggested it and I will be popping down to my local tanning shop to see how much our 'wedding tan' will cost - hes so fair skinned you see, I think he will need about 6 months to get some colour!! xx

Well I know you can buy it in a lot of places so may be classed as OTC ...but my husbands skin looks great thanks to Hugo Boss skincare. He loves the after shave balm, he has sensitive skin and this really does the trick for him.
The facial scrub is also great....according to him.

I use and like the MD Formulations line - it's unfragranced and uncoloured, and formulated around AHA and BHA ingredients. It needs a good few weeks to see best results, and it's also a good idea to tie home use in with some salon peel treatments to really kick start the process.

I also started to see good results with the P8N8 line that Zo Zo kindly gave me some samples of, but I've run out and need to get some proper sizes now! :D

Nivea for Men (the sensitive line) also have some excellent OTC products, and I also highly recommend Paula's Choice stuff, which you have to order through her website.

The problem with a lot of men's products is that manufacturers tend to shove in a whole load of unneccessary fragrance and dye, or they think we want products that "cool" or "invigorate" - and these additions are in fact irritating to the skin, especially after shaving. The choice is also less, with a lot of brands only really catering for one or two basic skin conditions. My honest advice is to find something without fragrance or colour, ignore whether it is for "male" or "female" skin (skin doesn't have a gender, despite what the marketing hype might have us believe, focus instead on the condition you want to address - in this case sensitivity and dryness), and get him into a routine that he can follow. Cleanse (no bar soap on the face or I'll come after him with a flannel!), moisturise and protect are the most important steps, anything else is a bonus! :D

HTHs :D

ooooh congrats on the wedding!

Mary Kay do a range specifically for men, the guys in the family use it and its done my brother wonders, if he'd like a free sample let me know and I'll pop it in the post.

my husband loves the Matis range and I introduced him to the Liz Earle range and he liked that too. Liz Earle is fab for senstive skin.

ooooh congrats on the wedding!

I have to agree with this to.

I have tried my boyfriend on nearly every mens range going, he is not a fan of nivea or simple etc, quite likes clarins & lancome but absolutley loves dermalogica he is always raving about special cleansing gel !

I can recommend the Germaine De Capuccini Men's skin care. I treated my husband to the cool scrub, shaving foam, post shave comfort, eye contour cream, anti-fatique serum and hydrating cream.

He gets quite dry skin with his job welding and he's one of those men who think its ok to wash hair (what bit he's got!), body and face with shower gel! I mean I wouldn't dream of using shower gel on my delicate face! So its no wonder he gets the dry skin.

Any way I know I'll never get him to do a cleanse and tone routine twice a day but he uses the cool scrub occasionally. He thought the shaving and post shave stuff was very good and the sizes small enough to take away on holiday, although said he would prefer bigger sizes for home. He has been mega impressed with the eye contour, anti-fatique serum and hydrating cream and I must admit his skin looks much better when he has slapped some on!

My husband tends to keep a tan for ages after our hols, but my son who is 18 is quite pale and providing he exfoliates properly I've had some really good results by doing him a spray tan! Perhaps your fiance could go for trial pre-wedding spray tan to make sure he is happy with it. I would recommend St. Tropez for him and suggest the face bronzer to top it up (cos it can fade where they shave around the face!).

If you would like me to send any samples of the Germaine De Capuccini mens skin care, please let me have your address. If you think he has SENSITIVE SKIN, I would recommend PATCH TESTS ON THE WRISTS, with the skin care AND the St. Tropez.

Luv Mrs. Bean! xxxxxxxxxxxx

why not try a dermalogica skin kit for men? it has lots of little samples in it as well as some travel sized products, and if he gets on with it you can always upgrade to bigger bottles!
