Hi all,

Im new to extensions and have trained in a few different styles of extensions but i really want to do my mums hair as a treat but im just scared of ruining her hair. I thought of using Dome originally but she wants real hair. Does the nail tip and balmain ruin the hair??? I have had monofibre for years and my hair is in great condition. Im just really unsure, she has fine wavy hair??

If you feel uneasy I think micro-rings is the easiest. I find fusion bonded the least detectable though and look really natural. Most of the damage occurs when either hairs get caught in the glue, so use a shield, or when taking them out so you need to be extra careful to not pull hair. Also the damage is done if attached too close to the scalp to cause pulling or if they are applied at an angle so it pulls the hair, always hold the hair down when applying so it lays flat against the scalp and use a shield so little hairs don't get caught in it. No extension method is supposed to ruin the hair if applied and removed correctly.
How fine is her hair?

Hi,
You say youve trained in a few different "styles" of extensions, Im assuming youve paid for this training?
If you ve paid for training, and dont know the basics like no kind of extensions will ruin anyones hair if theyre fitted/removed correctly,or which methods youve trained in are best for each client then you really should go back to your trainer. Also a good trainer will give you a list of hair suppliers, seems like youve been left short:rolleyes:

Hi

I just made an appointment with my trainer to go through some stuff i feel i have missed. I think the nerves are there because its my mum and i want it to look nice but also i think in my research i have come across some horror stories. I'm new to extensions and i think its just nerves that are making me question everything before i begin on clients. I wasn't going to get into extensions but i do feel it will benefit my clients.

Thanks for both of your help x x

Sure you'll be fine once you get cracking x
