Hi, I have bleached hair which is (was) in very good, healthy condition. I have always received compliments about the condition of my hair from hairdressers and I put it down to regular good conditioning, not over washing, leaving the re-growth come in for some time before having roots done and making sure my hair is never bleached over areas that have already been bleached.
I started using L'oreal Elvive Full Restore 5 Extreme Repairing conditioner about 3 weeks ago thinking it sounded like a super product. However the last time I used it I realised that I had loads of breakage throughout my hair. I use a wide tooth comb for my hair when it is wet and when I gently combed through there was alot of hair in the comb which has just snapped off as I combed through. Within the 3 weeks I have used the conditioner (maybe 6 times), my hair has gone from looking full and healthy to looking brittle and frail.
This has never happened before and while trying to work out what was going on I vaguely remembered reading something a long time ago about the "overuse" of protein shampoos and conditioners on bleached hair and how it could be very damaging. I did a few internet searches but I can not really find what it was a I read before about it.
Does anyone here know anything about this?
