could someone please tell me if when doing the masters qualification day if you wipe your brush does this fail you. the reason i ask is that for 3 years i wiped my brush if i needed to, but was told recently that if i do this on qmd i would fail. i think this is abit harsh as at the end of the day as long as i get the nails right it doesnt matter whether i wipe or not

One of the things that makes you a Master Technician is that you put into practice the things you learn on Master Classes. If every Master technician goes back to all their old bad habits as soon as they get their Master Certificate then what is the point??

If you have learned to achieve the correct mix ratio, then there is no need to wipe your brush is there? Only if you had something on the brush that you needed to remove like a hair or bit of fluff or product that you needed to get rid of.

When I learned with OPI they taught me to wipe the brush ... dip, make a bead, wipe the brush and then press the bead .... all that method did was to loose me money in wiping away perfectly good expensive monomer and it stank out the area where I was working!! What was the point of wiping?

I broke a 5 year habit and so can you. Much more efficient to do it right in the first place. Wiping is a bad habit that can lead to overexposure.

You might as well say, "as long as the nails look right, what does it matter if I thin and damage the natural nail while doing it"???

thanks geeg - i am try my hardest to break my habit and seem to be getting better at it. i only asked out of curiosity

You would not be marked down if you were wiping something off your brush before dipping into the monomer ... but if you were wiping as a means of achieving the right mix (as described above) you would.

You will soon master it and life is so easy and efficient when you do. It becomes 2nd nature!!

thanks again geeg - it is getting easier - but am still having a few lapses but am getting there
