Hi! I'm asking this question not just for me, but my younger sister as well. I have naturally medium/light brown/dirty blonde hair and she has naturally red hair. They are both very curly and frizzy and we've been looking into ways to fix that. We can't afford professional treatments, so I've been looking into at-home relaxer kits. I have many dark-haired friends who use at-home relaxing kits and their hair turns out great (Although there was one incident where a friend experimented with a different brand relaxer than usual - it didn't end very well) have recommended great relaxer kits to me, but the question is - Will a relaxer kit made for dark hair mess up our hair colors?

Unfortunately, since you are licensed, we can not give you direct advice on how to use or do something with chemicals. However, I would REALLY REALLY REALLY recommend going to a professional before its too late. many many things can go wrong and a relaxer can actually be very dangerous if not handled correctly. I know you stated finances. Cosmetology schools are always another option, may sound scary to some because they are "students" however, they have been trained to do anything they are doing to someone else as well as a teacher, who more than likely will help with the process of a relaxer at all times has been doing hair for tens of years. Please take my advice.
