I am currently looking into nail tech schools and am making a list of questions to ask, but hind sight is 20/20 and I don't think I have enough experience to now what to ask.

Besides the following, what questions should I be asking to make sure I get the best education possible?
-Fees (and if there is a discount for paying in full)
-Length of program and if they offer night classes
-If we are required to practice on each other
-Brands used and the cost of supplies

I appreciate your suggestions!

Those are some good questions :)

I would also personally ask how many students they usually enroll on each program (so that you know rough class sizes, how much one to one time you could potentially get from the lecturer), and I'd also ask what qualification you would receive following the course (if you do not already know the answer to this).

It may also be worth asking if they provide any optional studies (for example, when I was at college we were offered optional extra sessions in gel manicure with certain brands, spray tanning with Sienna X etc. You would pay an additional fee for these, but they were well worth the additional expense).

Good luck!

Other questions could be:
  • How are you assessed - practical and theory
  • Are there written exams or just multiple choice exams
  • Will there be specific dates on which you might have to attend for exam board visits (these could be outside the course times)
  • How much time per week will you need to allow to study the theory and complete the necessary worksheets for a portfolio
  • Do they have a commercial salon where the public book in - this is usually how and on whom you get assessed
