Hiya,

I'm trying to acheive that really bright neon red I keep seeing people with and a hairdresser I spoke to yesterday told me to try Loreal Majicontrast with a 20 volume developer, I've seen a girl on youtube get a really good result with it but have read reviews from others saying theirs didn't go that red.

Basically my hair is just above my shoulders, fine texture and is naturally mousey light brown/ very dark blonde at the roots and is coloured with Live XXL real red on the lengths. I have been colouring it red for a year and before that it was natural so it isn't in bad condition.

Does anybody know what I can either do at home or have done by a hairdresser to get that really not-at-all-natural fire engine red shade?

Thank you!

Have you looked at Directions Pillar Box Red? Thats what I use on mine..... you can get it from www.beeunique.co.uk They do all different shades and are mixable with each other too!

Thanks Red, I've had a quick look on Bee Unique and there are a few brands and colours on there that look really promising! What do you use to pre-lighten? (also do you then just lighten the roots before re-applying on future applications? )

How often do you have to top up your colour?
