Recommended salons/spas in NYC

I am going to New York in 12 days time (not that I'm counting lol) for a week of shopping and sight seeing with one of my girlfriends. This is my first holiday since I had my son five years ago and have been saving up for ages so I am planning on spoiling myself whilst I am there. I was wondering if any fellow geeks could recommend any salons or spas where we could get some beauty treatments done? I have tried the search facility and also searched google but I would rather book somewhere that was recommended to me.

The bliss spa is lovely ! They use their own skin care brands and essie for polish x
