Hey ladies I really need some help and advise.... I don't know why but when I've been doing my normal shellac procedure lately towards the last stage when you wipe the shellac residue off the shellac colour has majorly smeared off?!?! I even put two topcoats and cure for 60 secs each time with an led lamp!
The only thing I've been doing differently lately is making sure I'm really scrubbing the base coat on making sure it's really thin almost Matte as I've been advised on here before because my shellacs were lifting! So made sure base coat was applied correctly and only for 10 seconds
I hope someone can help me as it's really stressful and don't understand why it's happening :((

CND Shellac can only be cured in a CND UV Lamp not a LED Lamp so I would say that's where your problem is?

But I've been doing this method for nearly two years now without any problems?? X

Oh!!!! Also it's not even cnd sorry to mention is the red carpet led shellac range x

Red Carpet Manicure as in the at home gel polish system? (not shellac, only cnd is called shellac)

That's an 'over the counter' product and it's against this forum rules to give non-professional advice.

As this is a professional forums it's the wrong place to ask for help on DIY type products. You wouldn't walk into a random hairdressers and ask for help using a box colour, thats the equivalent real life situation! You are best to ask for help from the manufacturers or where you bought it from. Hope that helps + explains a bit about forum etiquette.

I was only after some helpful advise not a telling of from a complete stranger.
There's nicer ways of helping and explaining things to people....
And I'm new to this forum but sure haven't come across rudeness until now!

I understand what you're saying about over the counter products and them not being used by professionals. I myself use asp signature and did the training course at Sally's but why do Sally's sell the full red carpet range if it's not a professional product!?

Hey sorry, you feel that way.. I geniunally was trying to tell you in a kind way. Sorry it's just a rule of this site we can't help with consumer products. Please let me know what part of my post was rude and how would be a better way to respond. There are many enquiries similar to yours that appear from time to time so it would be helpful to know a better way to help yourself and others.

Sally's sell many products which aren't professional ranges, they cater to both professional and non-professionals. If you look at their website they actually have a retail and a trade version (sally express vs salon services). So for example red carpet manicure is on the retail site but gelish is not. In store the distinction may not be as obvious, but when you come to check out your trade card will be checked if you are buying any trade products.

If you think about it that these ladies earn their living in a tough market place and are being asked to help people who are doing non professional nails you might understand. Although I don't think anyone is rude.

If it's not CND it's NOT Shellac and can't be called that (even though everyone does that mistake)

Red carpet led is not even a professional range so i very much doubt anyone from here can help you because we probably have not even used it. Sorry! I do hope you don't take it as rude :(

Thank you I didn't actually realise this.

I will give you three peices of advice as previously stated we are not allowed to release professional advice to non- pros.

1- Your gel polish is not curing properly (CND is the only real Shellac brand) and that is why it is smearing.

2- Uncured gel WILL lead to an allergic reaction that is irreverible.

3- These types off alergic reactions are very painful and will create a bad itchy rash all over your fingers. Stop now before you permanently harm yourself. See a professional who can apply a professional product who has training and education in order to protect their clients and themselves from these types of situations.
