So i dyed my hair red a few months back and it went sweet and sour red which I really liked. i went into school and cut a long story short they wouldn't allow it. i put a brown on and it just dimmed it to a medium/dark red - not brown (I had done my research so I was expecting this - I used an ashy brown). around 2 months later (13th June) it was study leave so i thought sod it ill do it red again. my hair was a medium ginger because of the fading so i knew it would take. it went on lovely and i was red again! however, a week later i didnt want the red anymore. therefore, i stripped it using colour b4 extra which made it go bright bannana yellow. i then put a nice n easy golden blonde on it and it went a strawberry colour. i dont know why, i just presumed that the colour hadnt been stripped totally and there was still some red in there, therefore it re oxidised. this means i had to put a brown on AGAIN!

Now, I did it sunday and it had a slight ginger tint, its tuesday and I have washed it today and now its a faded auburn/ginger which looks ok but in a couple of weeks i know will be proper ginger. i have been looking at a few medium/ashy browns and cool colours to put over it to tone it down but i dont know what to do. thanks a lot :)

(My hair feels soft and undamaged... i have grade 4 sides and the top is around 3cm long) :D

Go to a professional before you have to carry your hair in a plastic bag

My hairdresser loves my hair because it NEVER gets damaged. It is very short so it grows out within 1 or 2 months. It gets cut every weeks because it grows so quick. Its still really soft and healthy. Plus I always let it get really greasy after I dye it to get it moist and not dry. (I wash it after a few days lol)

We can't give you any colour advice.

Either go to a salon or for a cheaper option your local college.

Colour advice can not be given out to non professionals, would need to see and feel your hair before giving advice anyway as the elasticity and porosity can effect what colour you put on hair, better off getting it done in a salon if you want it to look good, sorry

Was your hair that short before you messed with it?
