Hi everyone. One of my clients had her ends of her hair pre lightened then we applied a blue crazy colour.. it took lovely and bright and she was very pleased.
She then messaged me a few weeks later saying she liked the blue but it had washed out fairly quick as I said it would. She then went on to tell me she would like it lifting out so that she could use another colour ontop.
Her hair was very thick and strong and I said No bother so we began lightening.. 3 lightners with olaplex later her hair is mint green! It just won't budge! Any suggestions on how to remove? Or are we just going to have to cover over with a dark? Bearing in mind my client has natural fair hair around a base 7/8. Thankyou x

To remove direct dyes you need a remover designed to remove direct dyes or clear and 20vol etc. Using bleach you've now stained the cuticle so there's no way but to use more direct dye or cover it up with a darker colour

Thanks for the advice, I have never removed crazy colour before... luckily the lady liked the mint green but what a pain it is to get out!

No problem! Yes I think most of us have tried to bleach it out first time round and learnt from it :) that's good at least she can grow the mint green out or cover it up. I know some people use pink to neutralise the mint green you get left over with but I've never tried it so it might be worth an experiment :)

Sorry to boost this, I usually neautralise with pink but it's difficult in this case as I want to cover with grey (I know I know ....I've really set myself up here!)

I've never heard of the direct dye remover can you name one? Also how do you do the clear with 20?

My clients hair is like a turquoise at the moment and we want a clean blonde.

Thank you xx
