Removing Shellac from acrylics without infilling

Hi
I was just wondering if anyone has any advice. I've got a shellac colour on a new set of acrylics that I want to change. But I dont do acrylics myself and as they are a new set I would like to avoid getting infills/repairs. Would filing/buffing the shellac off before i reapply damage the acrylic?

Why not paint over it with normal varnish & remove with non acetone remover.

The shellac I have on is also chrome and ideally I want to change to a new shade of chrome. So polish wouldn't work. Sorry my mistake. I should have specified x

Yes just buff it off x
