how does the rent a chair scheme work. it seems very heavily in favour of the salon owner. is 35 pounds per half day and 40% commision fair? i am using there stock. i have no clients as they promised me a clientel of 500-600 per week. this has not happened. i will be paying to go to work at this rate. please arm me with information as i need to go in there and fight for my rights:!:

Chair rental is really for established stylists with their own clienteles. It allows them to earn more out of their clients than they would as an employee.

If you don't have a client base of your own, you can indeed end up paying to go to work. As far as rights go, the short answer is that you don't have any. You are not an employee, so have no employment rights. If you have a chair rental contract then that spells out things like notice period etc.
