Hi,

I'm a self employed nail tech/beautician and have just started renting a space in a tanning salon. I asked the owner for a contract, but all I got was a poorly typed letter to say that my rent would be reviewed yearly!

Obviously, I'd like it to be a little more detailed than that, but in all honesty, I haven't got a clue what should be in a 'proper' contract:confused:

Can anybody tell me what sort of things should be written in a contract:)

Thanks
Jayne

Basically must include the rent and any arrangement s to the increase allowed what you are and are not responsible for eg lights water costs and maintenence.

I don't have a contract either although im sure there was one in the pipeline !

Things I would ask for is holiday entitlement do you have to still pay the rent when you are on holiday ? If not then how many weeks do you get rent free as im sure there will be a limit.

Do you have to pay full/reduced rent (or none at all) if you are off sick ?

Who is responsible for the decoration of your area ? If its you then I would ask for the area to be fully decorated BEFORE you start working there, if its ok then fine but no-one wants to rent a badly decorated room then have to decorate it themselves before even getting a paying client in.
