Hi there,

I have just joined this site as i am after some much needed information and advise on Nail Tech courses. I have no experience within this area, however i would like to get trained and start my own mobile business.

I have been on line and over the last week looked at lots of different courses and Beauty schools around the Essex area; all of which range in price and course length. I am now very confused and worried that i may over-pay for a course that i will not benefit me.

Can anyone recommend a school and what type of course i should be looking at? I was also told that i would need to complete a course that gives you a proper recognized qualification (city&guilds) etc to get insured and be able to work on clients, is this true.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Remy

You may want to be asking in the consumer queries section hun.

The search facility will give you access to lots of posts and threads relating to the many accredited training courses available, as well as recommendations and suggestions as to which company to go with.

You will also be able to locate lots of useful insurance information this way too.

Hope that helps, and welcome to Salon Geek

hey I'm in the same boat as you - looking for a complete change! I'm studying travel & tourism at college at the moment, but it's not that good and I have always wanted to be a nail technician :) I've looked at some courses and there is this 5 day one by Capital hair and beauty called Profile Complete Nail Technician it looks good and not that expensive and I think they are all over the country. Does anyone know anything about these courses? Thanks :)

I too and in Essex, with the same problem!

I have been looking at ICS, so I can still work and learn but so unsure whether it's an expensive con or not!

But I have seen the beautec academy in Loughton does many courses for nails etc :)
