Hi I'm new to this site and recently qualified. I have someone coming for gel polish who has told me she has ridges in her nails. I'm worried the gel polish won't cover this. I use cnd. Can anyone advise if there is a product I can buy before she comes or if anyone has experienced a client with ridges in their nails? Thanks in advance.

IBX repair and strengthen is great for all kinds of nail damage including smoothing ridges. Louella belle sell the IBX and you can go onto the website for more information, lots of threads on here to!

Hope that helps x

My trainer said try to buff then out but I only just new to it all let me no how it gos and good luck xx

The shellac will cover most ridges, if you buff prior to shellac it won't hold as well & you risk service breakdown.

It's worth investing in IBX, it's great at strengthening nails, plus mine are a nicer shape now.

I'd avoid buffing out the ridges too.
The shellac will cover the ridges, you may just have to use an extra layer of colour before the final top coat.

If the nails are a bit weak you could do:
Base coat
Duraforce
Colour x2 or x3
Duraforce

This would give quite a bit of coverage over the ridges before you apply the colour layers.
