Then think marketing .... If this is goin to look horrible and looks as if it is self done .... Don't forget the golden rule ur name is on that and when u do some 1 hair u want people to notice it in a good way so they think wow I want my hair like that .... So her walkin round lookin terrible is losin u business !!! X

that's why i don't want to do it!! lol....will give her a call tomorrow and pursued her to tone it down.... a dark cherry would look fabxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yeah that would look at lot better if she isn't goin to maintain !!! .... I'd pursudes her to go fir something like cherly cole around base 5!

Why not go a shade darker 5.55 or 6.66 so it doesn't fade as fast and lasts longer

Does she already have some colour on it? If not, that's even better for you!
Pre-pig copper, that should bring out the red and keep the colour lasting longer. Majirel/Majirouge/Majicontrasts are a lovely range of reds. I've had a 6.62 which is a nice warm red, good for olive skin. Or as said above, 0.600 + 6.66 is a nice intense red. I've recently had the "Red" on my hair which is a vibrant red but not so pillar-box like Rihanna. Don't forget it needs heat during development. Worth it. It works very well if you do want a nice bright, rich red colour but wouldn't suit as light as Rihanna.

You'll obviously want to advise her on how she can look after her colour at home and at least warn that it may well fade to begin with. I've been having mine done with semi colours since and it does last. Persianista has also mentioned about the Pureology range being very good for colours.

Good luck whatever you do, these colours are real brain-tickers :D

Why heat ?? Heat just speeds up the process ...

If you look at the instructions for Majicontrast you'll find it says it recommends heat. Heat doesn't just speed up the process it helps the colour to penetrate the hair cortex. You don't NEED heat with it, no, but as I said it's recommended.

May I just add, in case any objections occur, I had this done in sliced foils. Not a full head.

Colour has to penetrate into the cortex for it to work! This is the science behind colour!! Its not going to.take better with heat but will speed the process up!!

I understand the science of colour thank you. I am sharing what I have learnt and if you disagree with it there is a polite way you could go about saying so. You have gone quite off topic now and seems you are going out of your way to undermine and ridicule me and it is not appreciated.
I mentioned I had this colour done in foil slices as it maybe something she would think to suggest doing alongside a full head colour. There is more to basic full head colouring.
I have said my last two cents, only because I know feel the need to defend myself. If you don't have anything nice or constructive to say perhaps don't say anything?
I apologise to anyone else reading this and thinking it's inappropriate, because it is.

I wasn't questioning you .. It never made sense with what you said about using heat ...

Yea your right with a full head colour.but if its for the same colour surly its going the long way around it? If someone wanted a few different tones of red foils would be a great idea

Im sorry to get involved here but it does come across that you were questioning everything that viva glam suggested! If that wasn't your intention then maybe you should think about how you word your posts? We are all here to share our ideas and pick up tips and advice, because to be fair we all do things our own way and use different systems so therefore we all have different answers. That's the point of the forum!

Hi, if you are doing full head colour I'm pretty sure loreal advise u not to use majicontrast on the scalp so I think the majirouge colours would be a better way to go, plus majicontrast does fade quite quickly....also if she has tint already on her hair majicontrast doesnt lift tint that great....correct me if I'm wrong people, I'm sure u will anyway :) lol

You're right you're not supposed to use majicontrast on the scalp. I had it done in foil slices and a majirel on the rest of my hair when I used the majicontrast. :)

Have you tried the magenta red? It's lush! I have a lady that let her hair colour grow out and wanted a pixie crop like Cheryl Coles mum. Then she wanted flashes of colours through and it was the first time I'd used the magenta red and I did worry about it fading but when she came in a few weeks later, even after going on a sunny holiday, it was such a nice pink! I have a new favourite colour!! :green:

I was talking about colour in general not aimed at majicontrast
