As some of you may know, I am out of the hairdressing scene for the last 10 years or so (raising my family:)) Before this, I worked as a top stylist in a large salon and then opened my own small salon which was very successful until I gave it up to join a band and went on the road:eek: all in all I have about 17 years salon exp.
I have been doing a few mobile clients the last few months and so far they have all been really happy and have come back to me. I am signed up for a colour course with Wella and regularly watch tutorials on myhairdressers.com.
I do feel that I am very capable and actually have more passion for doing this now than I ever had in the past.
A local fab salon is advertising for a senior stylist and I would love to apply but terrified to at the same time. they do not state whether or not the post is full or part time and I could only do part time due to family commitments.
I also feel that while I'm learning away here myself, I really miss the craic in the salon and also the backup. I don't think I'll ever stop having sleepless nights about doing a new colour as a mobile. I worked with the salon owner many moons ago and the job application requires a cv to another staff member. I don't have a cv and if I made one up, it would be hopping from stuff to other stuff. Waaaa what I'm asking is..would you entertain me at all if I sent in an application to you? I just feel rejection would knock me back even more. Any ideas?
Thanks for reading x
