Just wanting to know if anyone has tried this;

A thin layer of acrylic then a gel polish design then capping over the top with acrylic again.

Theres a few designs i like to do that require gel polish, but i dont like to do them on the surface of a finished acrylic nail as i feel it bulks out the shape and it can leave the surface of the nail feeling bumpy.

i dont like to use hard gels so im hoping someone has tried this and can give me some feedback :)

Your acrylic will crack if you try this. Cap with 2 layers of top coat

Gel polish art will usually leave a bumpy surface as it's thick by design (it's a gel) - if you want a totally smooth surface with art then you would be better using either normal polish or acrylic paints. Paints will dry flat and smooth.

I'm sure the woman on Naio Nails Youtube did this but I wasn't sure if it would actually be okay to do in the longrun.
