Hi I'm self employed in a salon with no contract. Salon owner has accused me of using their products without their permission. I've noticed my products have been used. He says he has cctv footage. I have now left the salon but he says I owe him money for products used and won't let me collect my hairdressing equipment. What can I do?

Firstly if you have no contract then you can argue you were allowed to use the products and at the same time the salon can argue that you can’t, it’s one word against another. As for him not allowing you to collect your possessions I believe this can be classed as theft x

Take a big friend with you and go back and collect your stuff. Don’t let the salon owner bully you. If he’s so adamant that you owe him money, tell him to prove his case in court.
