hi everyone. im new to this site, and have serched the web for this answer and could not find it anywhere. so im hoping you can help so here goes....

iv just trained in nails and i am hoping to start my own buisiness soon, but i was just wondering if i am allowed to mix glitter/sparkles into a clear acrylic and sell it online?? or is this not allowed? iv noticed they do it in china but am i allowed to in the uk?

hope i get replies soon :) thanks everyone x

The problem with this is if you mix it with say NSI powder then you can only sell it to those who use NSI monomer.

Without meaning to upset you, if you have just trained I would spend as much time as you can understanding the chemistry of your products and then you would know whether this was possible or not.

Thanks for the reply. The reason I want to do this is because I have changed systems and have lots of acrylic powder left. I just want to know if its againsed the law to do this because I have looked on the acrylic pot and it does not say n e thing bout sellin or resale. I'm confused. Also I am lookin into cnd and doing a course with them. Would n e 1 advise? Thanks x

Hi Natalie,
Look, part of professional ethics is that we don't resell products to others who may not be professionals and then there are VERY specific labeling laws and packaging issues as well as contamination issues if you repackage things yourself. The answer is yes that someone could go for you legally if all your labels packaging etc were not done according to EC laws. But you shouldn't do it anyway!! Protect yourself and your industry by staying professional.

Part of business is sometimes having to just 'suck it up' when you make a bad decision or buy something that turns out to be not what you want. Or use could keep and use up what your powder doing practice nails or example nails of different sorts to show clients etc.

We have the geekbay group here on salon geek where you can sell things you don't want to other technicians who may like and use what you don't want .. click on groups and join it and post what you are wanting to see there.
